1. Computer

A top quality computer is needed in the world of digital recording.The type of computer is depend on your taste and what you are used to but you have to make sure that you have enough amount of memory. You can use desktop or laptop,a PC or a MAC with a large of memory in its RAM and hard disk. In order to dealing with audio project in a best way,  it is so essential to get it as much as you can get. A laptop would be a good choice because you will be able to move your home studio around if you need to. But the price will be a little high, and if you use a desktop, it will be ok.

2. Audio Interface

The inputs from microphones, a midi device or from direct in and computer will be linked by an audio interface. There are a lot of high quality audio interface brands  such as M-Audio, but the most popular in the digital music recording world is Pro Tool System. This system include home studio essential 3.

Audio interface has different inputs, so you will need to know how many inputs you need for you recording. A smaller interface has only a couple inputs. This is work for one or two vocals and instruments at a time. You will need a bigger interface if you want to work on recording more instrument at once.

3. Recording & Mixing Software

The most popular recording software and audio interface is Pro Tools. For the best result it is wisely to considere Pro Tools recording software. There are several recording and mixing software brands in the market such as Cubase and many more. But, there is some thing  you should note that the Pro Tools does not work properly with Microsoft Vista. This software is work with Microsoft XP.

4. Condenser Microphone

A condenser microphone is very essential if you have a plan on recording an acoustic instruments or vocals. A condenser will cost about $100. If you have more money you will get a better microphone. You will need at least one microphone to work on recording. If you plan to recording more instruments, then you will need more condenser microhone.

5. Dynamic Microphone

You will not need a dynamic microphone if you make a recording on acoustic music only. For recording amped instruments such as electric guitars and drums, a dynamic microphone is a must.  It will price about $100 per microphone for an SM 57 or SM 58 from Shure.
