What are the Best Home Theater Systems available today? A pretty common topic today! So what’s the best system? There is no straightforward answer to this question because it depends on what you expect in your ‘Best Home Theater System’.

Your requirements for the different components may be unique. Following are the main home audio components of home theaters.

  1. The source of audio and video (DVD player, audio CD player, AM-FM tuner, Cable/Satellite TV)
  2. The video display unit (TV or projector and giant screen)
  3. The audio ‘display’ unit – that’s the speakers
  4. The audio processing unit – that’s an amp
  5. Accessories

Hope that gives you a rough yet clear picture on the home audio components you need. Let’s go through each of them one by one.

The source – this is where the audio/video signal is produced. What are you planning? Just a DVD player, DVD recorder, VCR, Tuner, Satellite/Cable, Turn table, Audio CD, Audio Cassettes? As you can see, it’s almost limitless, you can go on and on. But you have to put a stop somewhere and say. OK, that’s it, this is what I need, and no more!

Video display unit – hooking up to an existing TV? New TV? Plasma, LCD, or CRT? Or even giant screen and projector?

The sounds – loud speakers, floor mounted or wall mounted? Wired or wireless? How about the surround sound speakers? 5.1 or 7.1 system? See what I mean? Plenty of options to choose from.
